Bent River Equestrian
Sellers Shook is a lifelong horsewoman whose experience spans over two decades. Originally from Birmingham, AL, Sellers's love of riding ignited at a young age, beginning with the jumping disciplines at The Rise, learning from esteemed trainer and "r" judge, Jeanne Cox.
As a young rider, she began moving up through the realms of Hunter/Jumpers and Eventing.
Sellers' equestrian journey includes participating in Pony Club as a young rider. However, fate dealt a heartbreaking blow with the loss of her cherished thoroughbred gelding, TomCat. Following that loss, Sellers channeled her grief into higher education pursuits while continuing to impart her knowledge and love for riding at Camp Illahee.
At Illahee, Sellers inspired many as she directed the equestrian program, impacting countless young riders and instructors. It was here that she crossed paths with her current trainer and mentor, igniting a deeper passion and understanding for Dressage. Under the expert guidance of Natalya Gryson of Still Hill Dressage, Sellers immersed herself in the art of Dressage, delving into the intricate realms of connection, feel, and fortitude essential for elevating horsemanship.
Horses and their riders benefit from consistent exercise and working with a trainer, improving not only their competitiveness but also their wellbeing. Compassionate yet challenging work keeps your horse active, safe, and soft as they improve their balance, flexibility, and way of going. Dressage brings out horses' strengths and talents, promotes soundness, and supports them as they develop to greater levels.
Our training program is designed to nurture and develop the all horses and riders, setting them on the right path for a successful future in the world of Dressage or a solid foundation for the jumping disciplines.
Horses of any age and breed who are ready to develop a better way of going, can benefit from our training program.
Experienced in competing in the Young Horse Shows, we are able to help your young horse shine as it begins its career, as well as find its balance and strengths as it grows.
