Forestier Sellier - a Natural Partnership

February 19, 20252 min read

Each morning, the sun casts its first rays over the front of the Pisgah National Forest, gently greeting us as we feed our horses and begin training for the day. Bent River Equestrian Is located at the foot of 512,758 acres of National Forest Land, a 15 minute drive down from the Cradle of Forestry, considered the birthplace of Forestry in America.

As a working student, Sellers Shook found herself under the spell of the forest, learning trails, observing wildlife, and pushing up hills to find new strength. It helped her take her lessons about training to heart and gave her time to process new perspectives of training horses and upper level Dressage technique.

The support the forest has offered Sellers over a decade of living nearby made partnering with the brand Forestier a natural decision. Forestier means “of the forest” in French. The origin of the name Sellers goes back to saddlemakers in old England and France, all the more reason to work with a bona fide sellier.

The French craftsmanship, the incredible leather, the squishy foam panels demonstrate European excellence and rider and horse comfort at the forefront of this brand. Every horse ridden in a Forestier saddle has begun to move better, lifting it’s back more easily! And for a woman who is in the saddle up to many hours a day, the comfort is unmatched.

The Aachen model is a natural choice for any Dressage rider who wants to connect with their horse, sit in perfect balance, and feel their joy from their horse. A more narrow twist allows for a swinging leg, and supports the rider in moving with the horses’ balance and gaits. Are you ready to try a Forestier saddle?
